I am ready for the weekend. Today was payday - that makes it even better for a Friday!
Last night right after work we had some errands to do. The pool part that Steve was working on - we had to go get some replacement parts so he could finish that project. Which by the way took him 10 min to do when we got home - so at least he wasn't in a bad mood again!!! When we purchased our new tv - they got us to buy these cables that you just have to have - well, they are 100 a piece and we needed 2 - one for the tv and one for the dvd player. When we got home from getting the tv Steve looked some stuff up on the internet to find out - we can get similar cables off the internet - 3 for $30 shipped. HOLY SHIT - that is a big difference. So, last night we took the over priced cables back and when we got home in the mail was the other ones. Then as the Weber luck goes - our weed eater took a crap. So, Steve had ordered one online yesterday and we went to pick it up at Sears. Lots of errands and home by 5:45! Damn we are good. That is just because we didn't do any other shopping at those places. In and Out for what we needed!
I cooked tacos for supper. They didn't taste as good as I was expecting. It was prolly me. Because I brought the left overs for lunch today and even today I didn't think they tasted very good. Steve mowed after dinner and Piper and I watered flowers and played.
After Steve was done mowing, him and Piper went for a swim. I think the water was alittle cool - she was alittle unsure last night. But she was loving it - I think we might have a water baby on our hands.
I had to have new tires put on my truck this week. $630.oo later - I have new tires and I can't believe the difference. I didn't realize my old ones were that bad. I was thinking the other day about trading it off and getting some more gas friendly. But hell - I just put $630 in tires I want to get some of the use of those. Plus I don't know that I could really get rid of my truck. I think we use it to haul stuff and put more stuff in there that we realize. So, I guess it just keeps taking me $75.00 or more a week to drive it! Shit! I can remember not that long ago either when gas was $1.79. Thank god, that gas prices weren't this high when Steve and I were dating and he lived in Ft. Wayne and I lived in Huntington. I hate to even think how much gas would have cost each of us. There were so many trips back and forth then...
You know something I have been thinking about alot lately - you know how when you see family - friends and you say "Hey we will have to get together this summer " and then you NEVER see each other. Well, that is really bothering me this year for some reason. I am to blame too. I always say - " we will have to have you over" - "We will have to get together" etc., etc., and then we all CLAIM we are too busy. And yes we are all busy - but if you just make the plans - then you really are busy then and just not doing shit around the house, going shopping, going to the grocery - all things that make us busy but yet you CAN fit in the visiting that needs to happen with your family and friends. So, I decided to quit saying it and start making plans. My friend(Steve's cousin) Nikki and her family are coming over. And I just need to make a list of the others and get invitin'.

Not much going on - on my blog. WOW! My husband knows how to start the fires! He really is a very caring, loving person. Just likes to push everybodies buttons and get everybody all worked up.
Last night we had the big kids. They seem to be ok. Other than being tired for staying up late. They better enjoy summer at their mom's house. We have a bed time at our house even in the summer and a get up time. And they will have daily chores and homework to do. I bet they are looking forward to coming to our house don't you think!!! I plan on having a daily list of chores for them to do. I won't ask them to do much - but there is no reason I should work all day and come home to a mess at home! I do that now!
I took Piper for a walk last night and the big kids rode their bikes. Steve was suppose to catch up to us... well, he was working on putting our new cholorinator in (pool part) and it just didn't go the way it was suppose to. I felt bad for him. He worked on it for like 2.5 hours and then in the end it was still leaking. Shit! Then he was in a bad mood - so I just read my book and kept to myself.
I know I have complained before but last night was the worse it seemed.... it was daylight at 9:40 - felt like it was like 7:30 - I just keep working away. That is just crazy. What if you wanted to go to bed early? Freaky - it's just freaky to see the time and look outside!
A funny Piper story from the weekend. Well, we are at Meijer on Saturday night. In the shoe department. Ashley had to go to the bathroom (as always - I think she just likes bathrooms) Riley is trying on shoes, Piper is wandering around and picks up black shoe polish..... I am worried at this point about Ashley so I start dialing my phone - to which I hear Piper making noises at me.... and I look down and she has black shoe polish all over her.... all over her new tennis shoes, running down her arm, all over her legs, a spot or two on her shirt and all over from about her knees down..... and all over Meijer floor. Now I take the bottle from her so I now have it all over me..... I look at Steve and ask him how am I going to get her to the bathroom to clean her up - to which he replies - I don't know.... Finally I scoop her up and take her to the bathroom and wouldn't you know it - any other time I would love the air hand dryers (more environmentally nice) but not this time - there is no papertowel to clean her and me up! So I go in the stall and get tons of toilet paper and get us cleaned up! Well, it came off our skin..... it didn't come off those new tennis shoes we just got her. Oh well, I am sure this is just the start of spending money and things getting ruined!

I'mmmmm back! I wasn't too worried about not blogging. I don't write about as much exciting stuff as my husband and Josh do, so I am sure you all went on about life just fine without reading my blog! As my friend Wayne told me - I have the Mommy Blog.
A lot has gone on in the last few weeks. I can not simply remember it all. I know I have been ouchy at my family and friends. I am tired and I need a vacation. A real vacation. Not stay home and do stuff around the house. I would like to go away but I don't know when that will happen. At least when I am away I don't have to cook, clean, do laundry, etc. all those mom things every women knows what I am talking about!
Some fun things this week - what a great weather week it has been. In the 70's during the day and high 50's at night. I have slept the best in the last 3 nights that I have in weeks. Last night we had a nice dinner - steak on the grill. They hit the spot. After supper we went to Franke Park and flew Piper's new kite. She thought it was great. She was pretty interested mostly in walking around to explore the area where we were. The kite was cool - but didn't keep her interested for long. I let her hold the string and OF COURSE she let go - so Daddy (being the good daddy he is) goes chasing after the kite! This is one thing I really wanted to do this summer so I am glad we were actually able to fit it in!
Monday night - it was so cute. Steve put a blanket in the front yard and him and Piper were laying on it looking in the sky for airplane. She was patting the blanket telling me to lay down beside her. Another one of those moments you can't get back so we all just laid there and looked for airplanes. I loved it.
Sunday was Daddy's Day. We had a house full. I made chicken kabobs, rice and family brought pasta salad, potato salad, cucumbers & onions and dessert. The big kids, Piper, Adam and Norah went swimming in the afternoon. Piper loves the pool..... we are in trouble. Norah still wasn't too sure of it yet. In the morning the kids gave Steve his gifts. Piper was so funny with her bag of stuff and then of course all she wanted was all his colored bags. Ashley was wonderful and put Piper's name on the card that she had bought Steve and she even let her color on the one side of the card. It was cute. Riley picked out his own card for Steve. He was pretty proud of the card. I read the card later and I didn't really get what was so funny - but it was funny to Riley so it was meaningful to Steve then. Steve is an excellent dad. Some days I wish I had his patience and compassion that he has for our children. As my brother called me John Jr. on Sunday I guess I realized I need to take a chill pill!
Steve and I are both upset over the passing of Tim Russert. Ever since I have kids I get real emotional at EVERYTHING! I just don't deal well with stuff at all and especially when it involves a kid at all. (like Tim's college age son) I just can't imagine his son entering his real adult life when you become friends with your parents and not having a parent there to share it with. I would be a mess. I hope my children never have to go thru that and that we are there for their adult life things.
My boss is back to work and seems to be getting along good. I am thankful he is doing well - both selfishly and more for him. He is young and has kids and grandkids ( and we know how I don't do well with that - see previous paragraph) I am looking forward to not doing some of the stuff I was having to do - so that is the selfish part!
We have our new fence. I LOVE IT! It looks so nice. The pool has the new liner and isn't leaking. The back yard is starting to look real nice. This weekend I want to put some more mulch down and finish the one flower garden. I keep thinking next year we won't have to put as much work into the back yard as this year so more fun stuff can be done.
I felt for awhile we bit off more than we could chew with our projects. We were having lots of "problems" in general - fridge wasn't working right, this broke - that broke, etc,. etc., I just had too much on my plate! But now things are winding down and starting to be more like our normal life - I am starting to feel like myself again..... until we start the deck..... the next project.
